Nico Doyle, a retired ex-cop, enjoys the quiet life in his small Tuscan village – until a little girl unexpectedly asks for his help. Her father is a murder suspect. He begins his own investigation, following the clues between his hometown of Gravigna and the medieval town of Pitigliano. He must draw on all his experience as a New York City police officer – and it soon becomes clear that dark secrets lurk beneath the idyllic facade of Tuscany.
