By the late 1960s, celebrated actress Jean Seberg had already become a style icon. However, her political activism with the Black Panthers and her affair with civil rights activist Hakim Jamal increasingly brought her to the attention of the FBI. In an attempt to sabotage the Black Power movement, the US surveillance apparatus subjected the Hollywood star to ever more brutal pressure – Jean became the victim of an unprecedented conspiracy and smear campaign.
