b/w In Victorian London, fear is rife among the ladies of the light trade. An unknown person always murders under a full moon and always leaves a kind of business card at the scene of the crime that says "Angel of Death". The events leave no one cold, including Ellen Bunting (Eva Zilcher), who has been renting a room to a correct, reliably paying man for some time. One day, however, a terrible suspicion germinates in her: Does her lodger Mr. Quill (Pinkas Braun) have something to do with the murders?
