Rocksteady – The Roots of Reggae is a musical journey into the golden age of Jamaican music. For the first time in 40 years, the musicians and singers of the Rocksteady era come together in Kingston to revive their magnificent sound and tell their story. Recordings made in the original Tuff Gong studio, rare archival footage, and interviews with the artists at their homes and historical sites paint a vivid picture of the legendary Rocksteady era. Accompanied by numerous hits and evergreens – “By the Rivers of Babylon,” “The Tide is High,” and “You Don’t Love Me Anymore (No No No)” – the founders of this great musical legacy, including Bob Marley, are introduced.
