Carole enjoys a quiet life in rural France, while her son Martin conducts research in Indonesia for his doctoral thesis. There he witnesses cruel crimes committed by a palm oil producer against the indigenous population. To cover up the scandal, Martin is arrested under the pretext of drug smuggling and sentenced to death. In order to save her son, Carole decides to attend the trial and confront the powerful lobbies that defend the interests of the so-called "biofuels". She quickly realizes that in order to save Martin, she must expose the forces that endanger the environment and human lives.
