»Obsolete« is the third studio album by American industrial metal band Fear Factory from 1998. It was produced by Fear Factory, Greg Reely, and Rhys Fulber. The latter wrote, arranged and played all the keyboard parts of the album, and it was the band's first full album with bassist Christian Olde Wolbers. Musically, Fear Factory experimented with their sound on this album and it was the band's first full-fledged concept album. »Obsolete« revolves around a story penned by singer Burton C. Bell, »Conception 5«, which is set in the year 2076, in which machines have taken over humanity. » Obsolete« was intended to pave the way for Fear Factory to enter the mainstream and is still their best-selling album today. » «Obsolete« is available in a limited, numbered edition of 3000 copies on crystal clear and black marbled vinyl and includes a 4-page booklet.
