The Nintendo Switch (also simply Switch) is a video game console from the Japanese company Nintendo. It was released on March 3, 2017 in Europe, Australia, North America, and Asia, and on August 15, 2017 in Argentina. As a so-called hybrid console, the successor to the Wii U can be used both as a stationary console, connected to an external screen, and as a portable handheld console. The detachable controllers, called Joy-Cons, enable a third gaming mode, known as tabletop mode. With over 146 million units sold, the Nintendo Switch is the second best-selling Nintendo console after the Nintendo DS.[5]
