Bread and Fred (PC) Steam key is a challenging co-op platformer from Apogee where two players must work together perfectly to climb to the top of a snow-capped mountain. You play as the penguins Bread and Fred, connected by a rope, and each jump requires precision and a good sense of pace. Every successful landing brings you closer to your goal, but every mistake can end in a painful fall and the loss of huge progress. The biggest attraction of the game is the unique mechanics resulting from the fact that the characters are attached to each other. You can use momentum and swinging on a rope to reach distant platforms and "launch" your partner where they wouldn't have a chance to jump on their own. The key is to properly anchor one of the penguins – if you both lose stability, you will fall together. During the climb, the ability to hold on to the walls will also come in handy. Penguins can hover on the edge for a short while, giving their partner time to perform a maneuver and overcome the next obstacle. However, you have to act quickly, because their grip is weak and hanging does not last long. The game also offers a single-player mode. If you don't have a second player, you can pin a rope to Jeff – a stone that replaces your partner. Then all the responsibility for each jump falls on you, and there is no one to blame for falls. Bread and Fred is a title that can lead to frustration, but at the same time gives great satisfaction from the successive successful stages of climbing. You learn from your mistakes, improve your precision and master the penguins' skills better and better with each approach. For the most ambitious, there is also a speedrun mode, in which you can fight for the best time and prove that you are one of the best "mountain" penguins.
