Duke Nukem Forever is another action FPS game in the Duke Nukem series, developed by Gearbox Software (previously the game was developed by 3D Realms studio). The basic rules of the gameplay have not changed much - we are still dealing with first-person shooting, based primarily on quick and effective elimination of aliens. Among the aliens, there are both "old acquaintances" (e.g. pigs in uniform and Octabrains) and completely new enemies. Duke Nukem Forever also has no shortage of powerful bosses. However, the fights with them have been varied compared to the original, which is visible, among other things, in the spectacular scenes of finishing off powerful opponents. During the adventure, we visit various locations, starting from cities, through canyons, desert areas, but also industrial areas. We overcome some of the locations on our own feet, and sometimes we use various vehicles. There are also sequences in which we have to repel massive enemy attacks with the help of stationary weapons. This time, instead of traditional life, Duke was equipped with an ego indicator. It works on the same principle as life, i.e. its decrease to zero causes death, but such a solution fits our hero perfectly. A tough guy like Duke takes no damage, opponents are only able to offend his pride. As with most modern shootouts, the ego regenerates automatically, in between fights.
