Halls of Torment is a fast-paced, horde-vsus-hero action game with a pre-rendered, retro style reminiscent of classic RPGs from the late 90s. You take on the role of one of the many heroes available and enter the dark Halls of Torment, where endless waves of nightmare monsters await. Your goal is to survive long enough to take on powerful Lords of the Underworld, enemies with unique attack patterns and challenging mechanics. The gameplay is based on short, maximum thirty-minute sessions, in which you gradually strengthen your hero by choosing traits, upgrades, skills and items. Each playthrough becomes an opportunity to create a different, powerful build with interesting synergies. With a wide selection of classes and the ability to unlock their powers, you can experiment with playstyles and customize them to suit your preferences. The game features a rich mission-based metaprogression system that allows you to constantly develop your character and gain equipment for subsequent expeditions after each attempt. Numerous unique items await you in the dungeons that can be taken out of locations and used in future battles. Rare gear variants, artifacts that customize the gameplay, and the ability to create magical tinctures provide great variety and freedom of development. Halls of Torment also impresses with the scale of its content: six stages of increasing difficulty, eleven playable characters, over seventy skills, hundreds of traits and missions, dozens of monsters and unique bosses. In the final stage, you'll face the legendary Temple of Torment, which will test the endurance and effectiveness of your strategy.
