Marathon (PC) Steam Key is a fast-paced sci-fi extraction shooter in which players find themselves on the dangerous planet Tau Ceti IV. On the ruins of an abandoned colony, a battle for valuable resources is waged between mercenaries called runners, UESC security forces, and other unpredictable threats. Each expedition to the surface of the planet is a risky, tense mission in which success depends on preparation, tactics and cooperation. During gameplay, players explore abandoned laboratories, bases, and research facilities, searching for valuable artifacts and equipment left behind by a lost expedition. Danger lurks at every turn, with dynamic events, enemies, and changing environmental conditions making every mission feel different. The loot you collect must be safely evacuated to develop your character, acquire new equipment, and build more and more powerful builds. The game offers an extensive character customization system. There are six runner bodies at your disposal that form the basis of different playstyles, such as Destroyer, Scout and Thief. Each character can be developed by modifying weapons, installing implants, and upgrading body systems. This allows players to create unique setups to suit their own strategy. The gameplay is geared towards intense PvP and PvE battles. Missions can be completed in a team of two or three, alone, or join ongoing competitions as Rook – a lone hunter who starts out with no gear but has nothing to lose. As you explore, you can form temporary alliances with other players using proximity chat, but any alliance can turn into a betrayal at any time. There are also six rival factions in the game world that can be partnered with. Completing bounties for them allows you to earn new upgrades, increase your character's power, expand your loot box, and unlock specialized equipment. The history of the game hides many secrets. A hundred years ago, the Marathon expedition disappeared without a trace, leaving behind only ruins and fragments of information. Players can uncover traces of this history by exploring more areas of the colony and connecting pieces of Tau Ceti's past. In the later stages of the game, it is also possible to reach orbit and infiltrate the UESC Marathon ship. There, players can break into cryogenic vaults, acquire extremely valuable artifacts, and face off against powerful opponents and other teams vying for the same prizes.
