MENACE is an extensive turn-based tactical RPG set in a dark vision of the distant future. The player leads a strike force of Marines, mercenaries and criminals, operating in the isolated planetary system of Wayback, plunged into chaos, lawlessness and faction war. Initially, you command the Republic forces aboard the strikecruiser TCRN Impetus, but you must quickly forge alliances with local groups to face an unknown, deadly threat. The gameplay combines a deep strategic layer with challenging, dynamic tactical battles. Each operation consists of many related missions, and the decisions made on the strategic map directly affect the situation on the battlefield, relations with factions, and the further course of the campaign. You choose where and when to strike, with what forces, and what targets are a priority for you. Battles are brutal and merciless – losses are inevitable, and the enemy's numerical or technological superiority forces them to use cover, flanking maneuvers, fire support and appropriate weapon selection in a thoughtful manner. At your disposal are infantry, tanks, walking robots, artillery, and numerous support vehicles, each with unique advantages and limitations. Squad development includes recruiting commanders with unique personalities and stories, managing their morale, promotions, and extensive skill trees. Equipment is obtained through spoils of war and trade on the black market, which allows for extensive customization of weapons, armor and additional equipment. The TCRN Impetus cruiser acts as a mobile base that can be upgraded to suit your own command style. MENACE offers high replayability with procedurally generated operations, varied maps, random characters, and a huge number of tactical combinations. This is a proposal for players looking for an ambitious, challenging strategy, in which every decision has consequences, and victory is never certain.
