Necronomicon: The Dawning of Darkness is a dark point-and-click adventure game inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The production takes the player to the world of occultism, mysteries and unimaginable cosmic horror, where the thin line between reality and madness is quickly blurred. The action takes place in 1927 in Providence, Rhode Island. William H. Stanton, a calm and rational scholar, is unexpectedly drawn into terrifying events when his childhood friend Edgar shows up at his house. Visibly shaken and confused, he hands Stanton the mysterious metal pyramid, warning him never to give it to anyone – especially himself. Soon after, William learns that Edgar has been declared insane and is to be sent to a closed institution.
