You play as Thorald Olavson, a warrior looking for a jarl, who burned down his house, kidnapped his beloved, and fled to distant England. Organize a company, build strongholds, and personally lead your soldiers in a grand saga whose goal is revenge. At the other end of the North Sea, away from home, you must start by building a fortress from which you will launch an attack. Catching up with the archenemy will require resources, soldiers, and a strategic approach. Manage a growing economy, set up siege camps and training areas, organize a large army, and raid neighboring villages to increase your resources and push back the enemy. Construct and upgrade a variety of buildings to gather resources, recruit warriors, and upgrade their abilities and equipment. Develop growing villages into powerful fortresses with well-armed soldiers and powerful siege engines. Build defensive structures by delving into the battlefield – the enemy won't passively watch your progress, and you can expect the border conquered cities to turn into battlegrounds. Exclusive to these cities, mercenaries such as pyromaniacs and skilled hunters can change the course of combat. Your resources are limited, so planning your expansions and upgrades is crucial to ensure that the right soldiers are available at any given time. Will you bet on a larger army of low-tier units? Or do you prefer to make your way with expensive champions? The sea of infantrymen will fall prey to the archers lurking behind the stone wall, unless you equip your warriors with shields.
