Set in the Cold War, the game tells the story of people involuntarily recruited by the Murkoff corporation as guinea pigs to test advanced brainwashing and mind control methods. In a world of mistrust, fear, and violence, your morality will be tested, your endurance tested, and your sanity ruined. All in the name of progress, science and profit. SURVIVE: SOLO OR CO-OP You are Murkoff prisoners, locked up in their facility. You can go through the trials yourself or do it in a team of 2, 3 or 4 players. Cooperation is not required to pass the main objectives, but working together can be very beneficial. Regardless of the number of players on the team, it's all about surviving and getting out. Ultimately, your goal is to complete Murkoff's therapy and earn the right to return to society. To do this, you need to complete MK Trials and Challenges. Trials are immersive story-based therapies that take some time to complete. MK Challenges are shorter therapies that take place in a modified or redesigned part of an existing map. HIDE or RUN In typical Outlast style, the core gameplay is to dodge enemies, hide from them, and try to escape. Murkoff will provide you with tools that you can use to increase your stealth capabilities, create escape opportunities, slow down enemies, and more. However, you will have to work for these tools and work hard to improve them. The tools will allow you to: Stun enemies Blind them Seeing through walls Healing yourself and those around you Murkoff will require you to complete disturbing tasks in every MK attempt or challenge. Only after completing them will you be able to leave MK Trials or Challenges.
