ALBEDO Eyes from outer space Language: Polish Age category: from 12 years Media and quantity: 1 DVD 'Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space' throws us into a space filled with riddles and secrets without unnecessary caress. We collect and get to know the shreds of the plot assumptions quite slowly. In fact, not much is known about the hero himself. Well, a security guard who seems to like to splash himself – I mean, he doesn't spill his brother-in-law's name day by the collar. However, there is really no need to worry about the script. It is the puzzles that will keep us playing for a long time. The issue of solving them is not something problematic. Although you have to get used to the rules of 3D adventure. Thus, exploring the environment or collecting items resembles a first-person RPG. The recipient simply has to prepare for rearranging, moving various things – sometimes you have to jump in somewhere, dive in. People who are used to traditional point&click may suffer for a few moments. The suffering will be even greater because the prepared interface is not very intuitive. In fact, it will often cause teeth grinding or pain worthy of an ulcerated ass. It's operating the mouse wheel, dragging items from the inventory... In stressful situations (where every second counts), you will throw bunches of bitter words. However, I will praise the developer for hiding the option to quickly pull out the last used item under the right button on the rodent. Really helpful... A classic logical task has been added to the puzzles completed in the aforementioned three-dimensional space. Of course, it is their responsibility to increase the voltage on our neurons (opening a padlock, playing with strange machinery, turning valves, etc.). Well, I did it. With the right amount of patience, we will break any combination. Sometimes, in order to take another step forward in our adventure, you need to return to an earlier location. The title in question occasionally forces us to go on the offensive. I mean the fight with strange mascarons. You need to know that we are moving on a scientific basis. Strange creatures unexpectedly arrived on its doorstep. And it is their presence that will enrich not only the gameplay. The script also benefits from this. After all, new questions arise – with such as "Where did this scum come from?" at the forefront. Direct confrontation can be challenging. However, it is worth mentioning that playing shooter does not obscure what is crucial. The work of the development duo Z4G0 & Ivan Venturi Productions remains an adventure game. And one more thing: somehow this combination, communing with the assumptions of (quite well reproduced) physics and the desire to avoid combat (because the hero's mortality is high) reminds me of the beauty of Half-Life. Maybe I wrote it exaggeratedly, but I'm a sentimental man. Although the developer focuses on a dark – bizarre atmosphere, he sometimes winks at us. It is worth mentioning here that creativity and unconventional action can be rewarded with an unexpected cup (unless you are one of those people who first read the list of trophies and only then act). This attraction to the experiment may well end in the death of the hero. Therefore, it is recommended to stick the knobs on all interactive places, objects. Catching everything as it goes – I really want to emphasize this – will end with the presentation of the inscription 'Game Over'. Fortunately, we save the game at any time. 'Albedo' has received a large number of positive comments for the art style alone. Dark, bore colors contrast here with bright red or green. Maybe I won't dwell on the level of animation, the number of polygons, or the quality of some textures (the deficiencies are visible). After all, this is an indie segment (and apparently a one-man venture in large fragments). Nevertheless, the developer managed to create an interesting atmosphere. It's a kind of sci-fi supposedly stylized as older film productions. Well, maybe I don't know what to call it exactly, but the end result just "bought" me. Apparently, Early Access is a thing of the past. Supposedly we received the final build... But for the merciful God! It's been a long time since I've been slapped in the face by a developer so often. Bubbles appear frequently. Sometimes an object breaks all the rules of physics or changes its form (a rubber snake becomes a long line of nakur******* all over the board - normally techno rhythms); After misusing the item, the game will take us to... limbo; Sometimes we will fail the overhang and restart the computer after performing a fairly specific action (I will say that I am already a master of removing batteries from the radio; I think after the fourth attempt the bug did not catch me). However, in these cases, the last save saves us. The championship turned out to be an allergy to the DualShock 4 connected to the PC (for normal charging). The pad had no right to work without activating a special controller, although 'Albedo' turned out to be "generous". The game started immediate support for the console device. The image began to spin as if I was nervously turning the left knob and ordered the figure to raise its eyes to the sky. I could do all sorts of things, but the effect of sucking into the black hole was still active. And you know what? In this way, I ruined a few hours of playthrough. Because I was not saved by disconnecting the unlucky controller or verifying the integrity of the files by Steam. I felt like splitting my skull against the desk top or saying "I don't know, I don't know myself, I'm earned." in relation to creating a review of the title. However, in the end, I mobilized... How is that possible?! Because you have to know that 'Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space' is nevertheless engaging - it raises the need to discover all sorts of secrets (it also allows you to adjust the difficulty level and fly faster through previously played fragments :>). Hardware requirements Windows 7 / 8.1, Quad core 2.4GHz, 4 GB RAM, graphics card with 1GB VRAM, 1100 MB disk space The game is new in foil
