Biography: Andrea Camilleri was born in 1925 in Porto Empedocle, Sicily. He was a writer, screenwriter, and director, and taught for over twenty years at the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico. Since 1998, every title by this author stormed the Italian bestseller lists. With his numerous award-winning works, he also secured a firm place on international bestseller lists. Several of his works were published by Kindler Verlag. Andrea Camilleri was married, had three daughters and four grandchildren, and lived in Rome. He died in Rome on July 17, 2019, at the age of 93.
