Product description

A remote mountain village. A horrific series of murders. Unfathomable horror.

In the remote mountain village of Grein, nestled between mountains and a raging river, the gruesomely mutilated body of a young girl is found, missing almost all her vertebrae. The case is so baffling that Detective Inspector Alex Körner from Vienna is called in.
Körner grew up in Grein, but fled the gloomy, cramped village as a teenager. His return becomes a hellish ordeal, for the dead girl is just one part of a horrific series of murders. And as the river, swollen by the constant rain, bursts its banks and Grein is cut off from the outside world, a gruesome truth comes to light...
An early work by the bestselling author, awarded the German Fantasy Prize and now in an attractive new edition.
