He was a writer, screenwriter, and director, and taught for over twenty years at the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico. Since 1998, every one of his books has topped the Italian bestseller lists. His award-winning work has also secured him a firm place on international bestseller lists. Several of his works have been published by Kindler Verlag. Andrea Camilleri was married, had three daughters and four grandchildren, and lived in Rome.
