Product description

It wasn't just since farmers paralyzed the roads with their tractors in 2024 that it became clear: urban and rural areas have drifted apart. We are in the midst of a culture war, fueled in particular by frustration over a power imbalance: the city dictates how the countryside should be. But this division thrives on mutual stereotypes, and it is dangerous in light of current challenges – from food and energy security to demographic change and climate protection.

Andreas Möller contradicts the narrative of economically and socially backward regions, making it clear: Our future is decided in rural areas, where vital resources lie and almost half of Germany lives. Rural areas are neither left behind, nor can structural change be remedied by mere rhetoric of transformation. Möller exposes a fundamental imbalance affecting large swathes of our economy and industry, and demonstrates how many voices have been fatally ignored in the debates about the "right" future. This insightful analysis shows what needs to be done—and why genuine communication is more crucial than ever.
