Can lost time be made up for? Since her childhood, Julia has given her mother Christine vouchers - for her birthday, Mother's Day, Christmas, on all occasions. But she has only redeemed part of it. When Christine unexpectedly has to go to the hospital, Julia becomes painfully aware of how little she has cared for the last few years - and that time with her mother is limited. In order to be able to visit her every day, Julia temporarily moves into the house of her childhood. While cleaning up, she finds the vouchers and resolves to fulfill them all if only the mother gets well again. After surviving an operation, Christine suddenly speaks a few words of Frisian, although she has never learned the language. Together they travel to Amrum. There they both recognize what is really important in life.
