On a remote bay on the west coast of Sweden lies the village with the telling name Shadowside. Since the place is surrounded by high mountains, the sun only reaches it every five years. An astronomical phenomenon that occurs exactly at the time when this story takes place. The year is 1960. Untouched by the passage of time, life in the shadow side seems to go its way. The six friends Märta, Malte, Gustav, Picasso, Inka and Columbus have actually always been here.

But if they're honest, nothing really exciting has happened since the lobsters left the bay years ago - no one knows exactly why. This changes abruptly when one day a mysterious young man appears and claims that his name is Georg von Nichts ...
