The world in which we live is changing rapidly - at the same time, the realities within a society are drifting apart, not even the individual person still lives in a coherent world. With sharp-tonguedness, but also a lot of compassion, Dorota Maslowska captures exactly this, insanely funny and at the same time deadly serious. Her characters - a macho banker on a tear-off tour, a commercial filmmaker in a coke frenzy, a fishing boy and a swimmer in distress at sea between whom a magical connection develops, a woman who finds herself in a shabby hotel in total self-exposure - live in a world full of appearance and loneliness, and yet in 'paradise' they become deep characters.
