With flashing warning lights, the narrator, a nameless writer, drives to the side of the road when an unexpected call reaches her. On the phone is a celebrated theater maker who tries to win her over for his latest project - a play set in the tropics, the reconstruction of a case. A few weeks later, she sets off to join the theatre group on its journey into the deep interior of the jungle. Dorothee Elmiger tells a disturbing story of people and monsters, of fear and violence, of being lost in the universe and of the failure of narratives.

Biography

Dorothee Elmiger wurde 1985 in Wetzikon (Schweiz) geboren und wuchs in Appenzell auf. Sie studierte am Schweizerischen Literaturinstitut in Biel und verbrachte ein Semester am Deutschen Literaturinstitut Leipzig. Seit 2009 studiert sie Politikwissenschaft in Berlin. Dorothee Elmiger lebt in Berlin und in der Schweiz.
