Product description

Sarah is a book hunter, map collector and restorer, she loves manuscripts and old maps and is generally better with books than with people. Since the death of her aunt Amalia, who raised her and her sister, Sarah has been living in seclusion in her Marienburg villa with its wildly sprouting garden. Their only company: the turtles Bonnie and Clyde. That changes when Benjamin, a young librarian from London, shows up at the door. He asks Sarah to help him find an old Roman road map, an assignment Amalia had accepted shortly before her death. Sarah hesitates, and then she does, just drives off with Ben in his old car, with two turtles, a few atlases and many questions in her luggage. So they set off on a journey that takes them to France and England, to the world of books and maps, to Amalia's past - and to an incredible adventure. A warm-hearted and finely humorous story about love and family and about the fact that a card from times long past can point the way back to life in the here and now.
