A large Berlin hospital. Emergency room. Monday morning. Nicki is a resident physician and new here. The attending physician welcomes her with a few half-jokes, then leaves her to face the daily madness of the ER and herself. No grace period. For Nicki, a life in a permanent state of emergency begins. Sleep? That's for others. Free time? Only leads to stupid ideas. Overcrowded waiting rooms and dissatisfied patients? A daily occurrence.
