At 28, he fulfilled a dream with Oldiethek: a place where everything he could wish for could be found: old cars, motorcycles, kitsch, antiques, bric-a-brac, food, and drink. This place became a magnet; friends and acquaintances brought in more and more treasures. On January 28, 1990, he opened Oldiethek as a club. In 1995, the club became a restaurant, which quickly grew through word of mouth. In 1999, he began collaborating with WDR (West German Broadcasting). In 2005, he cooked for the first time on ZDF (Second German Television) with Johannes B. Kerner, and in 2006, he appeared in two ARD World Cup shows.
