Biography Juli Zeh, born in Bonn in 1974, studied law in Passau and Leipzig, studied European and international law. Longer stays in New York and Krakow. Her novel "Adler und Engel" (2001) became a worldwide success and has now been translated into 24 languages. Juli Zeh has received many awards for her work, including the "German Book Prize" (2002), the "Rauris Literature Prize" (2002), the "Hölderlin Prize" (2003), the "Ernst Toller Prize" (2003), the "Carl Amery Literature Prize" (2009) and the Gerty Spies Literature Prize of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Agency for Civic Education (2009). In 2013 she was honoured with the "Thomas Mann Prize" for her "diverse prose work", and in 2014 with the "Hoffmann von Fallersleben Prize" for contemporary literature. Juli Zeh lives in Leipzig.
