Hamburg in the 1970s: Tom "Katze" Katzenberger, a 17-year-old with a camera and big dreams, lands the job as the youngest police reporter at the 'Hamburger Morgenpost'. Soon, the celebrated young reporter is always the first on the scene – and right in the middle of a world of violence, greed, and glamour. In the harsh reality of the red-light district, he grows into the chronicler of St. Pauli. But the decades take their toll: power struggles and personal losses push Katze to his limits. When an old acquaintance asks for his help, he has to decide: does he keep his distance or does he engage in one last dangerous game?
