biography

Andreas Englisch, born in 1963, studied literature and journalism. He has lived in Rome as a journalist since 1987 and headed the Italian bureau of the Axel Springer publishing house for ten years. Today, he writes exclusively for 'Bild' and 'Bild am Sonntag' from Italy and provides commentary on behind-the-scenes events at the Vatican for various television stations. Andreas Englisch has lived in Rome as a Vatican correspondent since 1987. He was in close contact with Pope John Paul II and is one of the six journalists permitted to accompany Benedict XVI on all his travels.
