Product description

From the author of the bestsellers 'The Nutrition Compass' and 'Compass for the Soul': The shift in perspective that changes everything – why our happiness lies outside the comfort zone. In retrospect, it is often precisely the most challenging situations in life that we recognize as particularly valuable. In a world, however, that has dedicated itself to comfort and convenience, we do everything to avoid them. But what if we could perceive the hurdles and obstacles as opportunities the very moment they stand in our way? In this philosophical essay on life, Bas Kast explores why we resist unpleasant sensations such as pain and hunger, conflict and stress – and what we miss out on as a result. Whether physical training, fasting, honest conversations, or enduring uncomfortable feelings: 'In Praise of the Uncomfortable' is an invitation to no longer see effort and hardship as the enemy, but to discover them as allies through which we grow personally. An inspiring encouragement for all those who expect more from life than comfort and instant gratification.
