Product description

Against the backdrop of the themes of homeland, memory, and identity, this volume explores what truly holds the people of Brandenburg together and connects them. The memorial sites presented here are not merely clearly identifiable landmarks, but also events, people, customs, and slogans. On a symbolic and emotional level, shared remembrance fosters a sense of community, creating a Brandenburg historical culture that can endure and evolve across generations. The second volume of the work examines, among other things, the Red Eagle, Beelitz asparagus, the miller of Sanssouci, Prince Pückler, Theodor Fontane, the Seelow Heights, Cecilienhof Palace, and the Glienicke Bridge. With contributions from Matthias Asche, Marco Barchfeld, Sascha Bütow, Thomas Brechenmacher, Vinzenz Czech, Georg Eckert, Manfred Fließ, Dominik Geppert, Anke Grodon, Matthias Helle, Theresa Khan, Marco Kollenberg, Klaus Neitmann, Sönke Neitzel, Simone Neuhäuser, Christian Popp, Janine Rischke-Neß, Florentine Schmidtmann, Horst Seferens, Nicole Seydewitz, Rüdiger von Schnurbein, Ralf-Gunnar Werlich.
