Dave Goulson: So What Should We Eat? New Book
Our diet is in crisis: We want to live healthily, yet our plates are filled with highly processed, sugary, nutrient-poor products – contaminated with pesticides and heavy metals. This not only endangers our health but also nature. Soils are depleted, species are disappearing, the climate is suffering – and right in the middle of it all: our daily food. Dave Goulson, internationally renowned biologist and passionate advocate for raising awareness, shows how closely our personal well-being is linked to the state of the Earth – and what concrete steps we can take. Which foods should truly be organic, what matters when shopping, and how we can all contribute to change – Goulson sheds light on the murky world of supermarket shelves in an expert and accessible way. Biography (Dave Goulson) Prof Dave Goulson has had a lifelong interest in insects, having started collecting butterflies as a small boy. After a degree in Biology at Oxford University and a PhD at Oxford Brookes University, he received a lectureship at the University of Southampton in 1995, where he stayed for 11 years. He is now Professor of Biological Sciences and Head of the School of Biological & Environmental Sciences at the University of Stirling. In 2006 he founded the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, a membership-based charity dedicated to the active promotion of bee conservation in the UK; the trust now has 3,000 members. Notes: New product
