The linear economic model leads to increasing resource consumption, mountains of waste, high CO2 emissions and biodiversity loss. In addition, it strengthens economic dependencies and increases systemic risks in global value chains. A key lever for containing the many negative effects of the currently prevailing economy is the circular economy, which also offers enormous potential for companies.
