Politics is subject to the dictum of recurring legislative periods. Issues and problems that lie outside the horizon of around four years often remain unaddressed, as many voters prefer quickly noticeable improvements and obvious issues. To make matters worse, it is often enough the big concerns that are left undone. Long-term thinking, planning and conception are becoming increasingly alien to politics. A backlog of action is created, and the younger generations in particular are feeling the pressure of the postponed decisions for their future. They are therefore increasingly demanding that these long-term issues and problems be discussed. Under the heading of "intergenerational justice", this discussion is currently gaining momentum in public discourse.
