Kenton Nelson Buch Comic Neu
Kenton Nelson's painting is deeply rooted in the collective visual memory of American popular culture. His works move between nostalgia and mysteriousness, between flawless surface and a hidden tension. Stylistically, they tie in with the aesthetics of the public murals from the New Deal era and at the same time are reminiscent of the visual language of advertisements from the 1930s to the 1950s as well as American Realism. Behind this formal order, however, there is a quiet melancholy and the premonition that this world may seem perfect, but is only dreamed of. The publication, produced in cooperation with Galerie Nikolaus Ruzicska, Salzburg, and Peter Mendenhall Gallery, Pasadena, pays tribute to Kenton Nelson's oeuvre with numerous illustrations, as well as an accompanying essay and an interview with the artist.
