Product description

In the year 45 after its first publication in Germany, Asterix undergoes its first major revision! In meticulous detail, all 34 Asterix albums have been uniformly coloured and the speech bubbles have been re-lettered. The cover design has been carefully modified, some covers have even been redrawn by Asterix illustrator Albert Uderzo himself! This means that the great success Asterix is fit for a new century and can look forward to a glorious future! Biography (René Goscinny) René Goscinny, born in Paris in 1926, grew up in Buenos Aires and worked after graduating from high school, first as an assistant accountant and later as a draughtsman in an advertising agency. In 1945, Goscinny emigrated to New York. In 1946 he had to go to France to do his military service. Back in the USA, he worked again as an illustrator, then as artistic director at a children's book publisher. During a trip to France, Goscinny was hired by a Franco-Belgian press agency, which sent him to New York twice as a correspondent. He gave up drawing and started writing. He designed a lot of humorous articles, books and scripts for comics. René Goscinny died in 1977.
