Comic adventures of Tarzan. On March 15, 1931, the first color comic page of Tarzan appeared in some American newspapers. This and the following 27 pages were drawn by Rex Maxon. From September 27, 1931, Hal Foster, who later became world famous through Prince Ironheart, took over the series. He put 293 pages on paper for this series in the following years. In mid-1937, Burne Hogarth, legendary for his dynamic drawing style, became his successor. Apart from a longer break - in the mid-1940s, during which Ruben Moreira drew - Hogarth continued the adventure stories until 1950. In ten volumes, Bocola publishes the restored Tarzan Sunday pages in the original colours for the first time. In the large hardcover format (26.3 x 35.4 cm), the detailed drawings come into their own. Each book contains about two volumes from the period 1931 to 1950. The final volume, volume 10, also contains all the dailies from the "Hogarth phase" (1950). Biography (Edgar Rice Burroughs) Edgar Rice Bourroughs was born in Chicago on September 1, 1875. In the years from 1912 until his death in 1950, he wrote over 60 novels and numerous short stories
