New York, 1981 - the year that will go down in the history of the city as the most dangerous with its crime rate. The immigrant businessman Abel Morales and his wife Anna are on the verge of their greatest coup and risk. With a large down payment, they acquire the option of an industrial site with which they could turn their joint heating oil company into one of the most important in New York. They have one month to procure the remaining payment in the millions – otherwise they lose everything. Meanwhile, the violence does not stop at them. When armed attacks on his drivers repeatedly take place during the delivery of the heating oil and the trucks and their cargo are hijacked, Abel comes under pressure. Although he has always run his business correctly and with legal means, the escalating threat is forcing him to rethink his principles. In the process, the couple gets deeper and deeper into a maelstrom of unbridled violence, decay and corruption that threatens to destroy their existence...
