"Adam's apples" - that's what Ivan, a country priest somewhere in the Danish middle of nowhere, has called the apples on the church apple tree since Adam set himself the task of baking an apple pie from them. Adam is the new addition to Ivan's oasis of charity, where he tries to resocialize delinquents. His current flock are, in addition to the violent neo-Nazi Adam, the drunkard and rapist Gunnar and the Arab gas station robber Khalid. At first glance a convinced do-gooder, Pastor Ivan meets everything and everyone with unshakable understanding, even the rude behavior of his protégés. But soon his mercy turns out to be an obsession that tolerates no contradiction. While Gunnar and Khalid avoid arguments with Ivan, Adam confronts manic kindness. He decides to take up the fight and give Ivan's positive view of things a shot of evil reality. However, a third power seems to be involved in the escalating dispute between the two, which wants to subject both to scrutiny.
