East Berlin, the morning of October 9, 1989: The famous actor Otto Wolf is rehearsing for a secret play entitled "Always Forward," in which he portrays Erich Honecker. Through contacts, Otto receives shocking news: The demonstrations against the GDR regime planned for that evening in Leipzig are to be violently suppressed—and his pregnant daughter Anne is on her way there!
