Robert Miller (Gere) seems to have achieved everything in life. He's a successful hedge fund manager and blessed with a wonderful family. His wife Ellen (Sarandon) is always by his side, and his daughter Brooke (Brit Marling) has followed in her father's footsteps and is well on her way to a successful career in his company.

But a look behind the scenes reveals a very different picture: Miller is desperately trying to sell his company to a major bank before the fraud he's used to cover up his business for years comes to light.
