Arsène Lupin is a well-mannered, distinguished person with a great interest in art. He is a good detective, but his main job is a thief and burglar. Also a very good one, also thanks to its special ability to transform. His right-hand man and his faithful accomplice Grognard and the beautiful Natascha are at his side. In ever new disguises, Lupin teases his permanent enemy Guerchard from the police and simply does not let himself be caught. He spends most of his time in high circles and here he also finds his favorite victims. By robbing them, he cleanses society of its imbalance between rich and poor, while at the same time exposing fraud and corruption among the rich. However, he always remains noble and never uses violence. As early as 1907, the master thief had been playing pranks in novels. The episodes of this first television version were just under an hour long and ran on ARD and ORF.
