Bremen, the 80s: The Beat Club, known since the mid-60s as an innovation centre for youth culture and rock music without pigeonholing on public television, spared no expense and effort to invite up-and-coming bands from the still quite young genre of hard rock and heavy metal to Bremen to perform live in front of a (studio) audience. Nobody would have guessed at that time that IRON MAIDEN would be the future spearhead of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWoBHM) on site. Six other bands deliver an energetic cross-section of the genre that leaves no head on their shoulders. The British NWoBHM colleagues SAXON deliver a sweaty set with hits from their first four albums in the Radio Bremen studio. From the USA, the later million-seller and L.A. (hair) metal legends DON DOKKEN with exceptional guitarist George Lynch were brought to the Radio Bremen studio.
