The 1955 film by director Ed Wood, also known as "Revenge of the Strangler", is an adaptation of the classic "Frankenstein" theme, adapted to the nuclear age: in his lonely house, Dr. Vornoff (Bela Lugosi) experiments with the creation of a nuclear superhuman, assisted by his assistant Lobo (ex-wrestler Tor Johnson in his first role as a heavyweight villain). Other actors in the sometimes somewhat confusing plot are the hostile Professor Strowski, the attractive journalist Janet Lawton, who herself falls into Vornoff's clutches, and her fiancé Lieutenant Craig. Cheap special effects like the octopus without an engine, which Bela Lugosi had to move herself in the fight scene, shaky scenery and actors, some of whom were in front of the camera for the first and last time, make "Bride Of The Monster", which enjoys cult status today, an enjoyable trashy fun for all friends of bizarre B-movies.
