The unemployed clown Louison becomes a caretaker in a dilapidated apartment building. Butcher Clapet, the owner of the house, is particularly pleased about this, because he has to feed the stomachs of the greedy residents of the house. Whenever he places an advertisement for a janitorial job, it means that fresh meat is offered again in the shop counter a little later. However, when Louison falls in love with Julie, the butcher's daughter, things get dangerous for him. A group of vegetarian underground fighters is supposed to help.
