In the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, over 130 million British pounds were printed, under circumstances that could not have been more spectacular and tragic. Under the code name "Operation Bernhard", the enemy's economy is to be weakened and brought to its knees with millions of counterfeit British pounds. The action was carried out by prisoners of the concentration camp under the direction of the renowned forger Salomon Sorowitsch. The prisoners have a choice: if they support the enemy, they get the chance to survive as well as unimagined privileges in the face of naked horror - if they sabotage, this means certain death.
