»Doctor Sleep« continues the story of Danny Torrance 40 years after the horrific events of Stephen King's »The Shining«. Still scarred by the trauma of his childhood, Dan Torrance does his best to find his peace. However, this is abruptly interrupted when he meets Abra, a courageous teenager with a psychic gift, known as "Shining". Realizing that Dan has the same gift, Abra tracks him down and desperately asks him for help in the fight against the ruthless Rose the Hat and her followers, The True Knot, who feed on the "Shining" of innocents in their quest for immortality. Dan reluctantly joins Abra in a life-and-death fight against Rose, and Abra's innocence and fearless use of her gift help Dan unleash the full potential of his own powers as he confronts his fears and the shadows of the past.
