1986: The GDR is bankrupt, perestroika is real, terrorism is sweeping Europe, AIDS is spreading into a global disease and the fight against apartheid continues. Exiled to Angola in 1983 for his sins, Martin Rauch ekes out a lonely existence, seemingly forgotten by everyone, until his aunt Lenora wins him over to her plan to collect hard currency for the GDR workers' state. An adventure begins that accompanies them through Africa and Western Europe and finally brings them back home, to East Germany. Can mafia-like capitalism save ailing communism just in time?
