During World War II, three German-Americans, Kuhlke, Steinbichler, and Blümel, receive a special mission due to their heritage: to blow up an aircraft factory in the United States. However, the three have no intention of carrying out their mission and instead indulge their personal vices. In the land of opportunity, they enjoy themselves as cowboys and film extras, among other things. At first, they don't even notice that the FBI is after them... Pidax presents this long-sought-after spy film parody, directed by Harald Philipp (Winnetou and the Half-Breed Apanatschi, The Oil Prince, Behind Closed Doors) and produced by Artur Brauner (The 20th of July, The Good Soldier Schweik, Old Shatterhand). The exterior shots for this adventure of three reluctant saboteurs, also released in Germany as Three Against America, were filmed in Gibraltar. Berlin actor Günter Pfitzmann plays a typical German sergeant major. Joachim Fuchsberger plays a somewhat dreamy character, but is also convincing as a fake US soldier and cowboy. Werner Peters is a shrewd trickster in unfamiliar territory. We also see Gert Fröbe as an Italian singer, Fritz Tillmann as a farmer, and Elke Sommer and Margot Eskens engaged in romantic entanglements.
